AEO services: get named
when the AI answers.

Your next customer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI — and acts on the answer without ever seeing page one. Answer engine optimization is the work of being inside that answer. We run it on every page of this site, and it's the same visibility discipline that built FreedInsure from a $227 first month to a $1.3M-a-year book with three-quarters of clients renewing. Not theory. Wiring.

What's actually broken

The click you optimized for is disappearing

Strong rankings, zero presence in the answers buyers actually read. We see the same six gaps behind it, over and over.

Gap 01

The answer replaced the click

Customers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI — then act on the answer. No page one, no list of links, no visit. The click you spent years optimizing for is quietly being replaced by an answer — and most businesses have never competed for the answer at all.

Gap 02

Machines quote what they can parse

AI answers are assembled from structured, verifiable, quotable sources — schema, clean entities, plain statements a model can lift. Most sites never built any of that. A page a human likes and a page a machine can quote are two different builds. You need both.

Gap 03

Invisible, silently

Lose a ranking and a report shows it. Get left out of an AI's recommendation and nothing shows anywhere. No analytics line reports the answer you weren't in. Brands invisible to machines lose customers without a single data point to argue about.

Gap 04

Trust signals left on the table

Engines weigh reviews, citations, and author credentials before deciding who is safe to recommend. Most businesses treat reviews as vanity and author pages as filler. To a machine, those are the receipts — and missing receipts read as a reason to name someone else.

Gap 05

Schema as decoration

Plenty of sites run a schema plugin and call it done. Markup wrapped around thin copy is decoration: the machine parses it, finds nothing worth quoting, and moves on. The substance of the answer is the ranking factor. The markup just makes it legible.

Gap 06

Nobody is measuring presence

Ask a room of owners whether ChatGPT names them for their buyers' questions. Nobody knows. AI-answer presence is measurable today — question by question, engine by engine — and almost nobody is looking. You can't fix an absence you never check for.

What we install

The build that gets you quoted

AEO isn't a plugin you switch on. It's an architecture: pages structured so a machine can parse them, answers written so a machine can lift them, receipts a machine can verify. If your search fundamentals need the same treatment, the build starts on the small business SEO page — it's one build, and the wiring is below.

  • The quotable-answer architectureStructured data on every page, plain-language answers a machine can quote verbatim, an llms.txt file for AI crawlers, and entity consistency — the same name and the same facts everywhere an engine checks.
  • Receipts machines can verifyReviews, citations, and author credentials — the trust file an engine reads before it names you. We built ours the hard way: FreedInsure's clients left 4.9 stars across 519 public Google reviews.
  • The SEO+AEO double buildOne build feeds both engines. The page that ranks is the page that gets quoted — structure, answers, and authority do double duty. The full argument is in SEO vs AEO.
  • AI-presence monitoringWe ask the engines your buyers' questions — on a schedule — and track who gets named: you, your competitors, or nobody. The absences become the work order. The report is yours either way.
AskedYour buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google a question you can answer
AssembledThe engine pulls from structured, verifiable sources to write its answer
NamedYour business is in the answer, with a reason attached
TrustedReviews, citations, and author credentials back the recommendation up
CountedPresence tracked question by question, engine by engine, month over month

+0:00:05Presence logged — you, competitors, or nobody

We're not pitching this playbook. We're standing on it.

View source on this page. Structured answers, FAQ markup, breadcrumbs, plain-language copy a machine can lift — every page we ship carries the exact build we sell. We run the playbook on ourselves first, because a vendor whose own site is invisible to the engines is telling you everything.

The receipts behind the receipts: we founded FreedInsure in February 2023 — two people, zero startup capital, $227 in commission the first month. It grew to an average of $1.3M a year with roughly three-quarters of the book renewing, and its clients left 4.9 stars across 519 public Google reviews. Visibility that machines can verify helped build that book. The whole story is in the FreedInsure case study.

And the independent research says the same thing. Ahrefs' February 2026 study of 300,000 keywords found AI Overviews cut the click-through rate of the number-one organic result by 58% — the click you ranked for is evaporating. The peer-reviewed GEO study (KDD '24) found that citing sources, quotations, and statistics can lift a page's visibility in AI answers by up to 40%. And Seer Interactive's April 2026 update found pages cited inside an AI Overview earned 120% more organic clicks per impression than uncited pages. That is the whole argument for this service, in other people's numbers.

Questions buyers ask us about AEO

AEO services — answer engine optimization services — are the work of making your business the answer AI assistants and search engines give when your buyers ask a question. In practice that means structured data on every page, plain-language answers a machine can quote verbatim, entity consistency across the web, an llms.txt file for AI crawlers, verifiable trust signals like reviews and author credentials, and ongoing monitoring of which brands the engines actually name. SEO earns you a ranking a human might click; AEO earns you the answer the machine gives. An AEO agency builds and maintains that machine-readable layer so the recommendation includes you.
Three names, two jobs. SEO — search engine optimization — earns rankings in traditional search results, where a human scans a list and clicks. AEO — answer engine optimization — earns placement inside the answer itself: what ChatGPT says, what Perplexity cites, what Google's AI Overview asserts. Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the industry's other name for AEO — same discipline, different label. If a vendor quotes you AEO and GEO as separate line items, they've sold you the same thing twice. The distinction that matters is SEO versus AEO — the ranked list versus the assembled answer — and the strongest position is one build that feeds both.
No. Same build, two engines. The signals answer engines use to assemble a response overlap heavily with the signals search engines use to rank: clear structure, real expertise, verifiable trust, answers stated plainly. A page built right ranks in the list and gets quoted in the answer. AEO adds a machine-readable layer on top — structured data, quotable phrasing, entity consistency, presence monitoring — it does not replace the foundation. Anyone telling you to abandon SEO for AEO is guessing with your budget. Search still closes customers today; answers are where the shift is heading. Build once, feed both.
We don't quote a number before the free revenue diagnosis. The diagnosis reads your current visibility — search results and AI answers both — your competitors, and your close math. Then the engagement is scoped to what's actually missing and priced against the return it should produce. You see the price and the expected math in writing before a dollar moves. The honest metric isn't cost per click or cost per citation — it's cost per closed customer. If the math doesn't clear that bar, we tell you so, and you keep the diagnosis.
Three ways, honestly labeled. First, presence tracking: we ask the engines your buyers' questions on a schedule and record who gets named — you, your competitors, or nobody. That's the direct measure. Second, branded demand: when AI answers name you, branded searches and direct visits rise, and we watch both. Third, assisted conversions: leads who arrive already knowing you, repeating an answer they read. What we won't claim is a clean attribution line from one AI answer to one closed deal — this measurement is younger than SEO's, and anyone promising otherwise is selling. You read the same dashboards we do.
