Pittsburgh & Allegheny County

A Pittsburgh SEO company
that shows its work.

Local SEO, AEO, paid ads, and websites that convert — for a town that can smell a pitch from the far end of the Fort Pitt Tunnel. We built our own company on these systems: a $227 first month of commission, grown to $1.3M a year in revenue, with roughly three-quarters of clients renewing. Every claim on this page comes with a receipt.

What's actually broken

Why good Pittsburgh businesses stay invisible

This city is allergic to hype — and it still can't out-stubborn a broken funnel. Six leaks we see across the metro, all fixable.

Leak 01

The hype tax

No-BS towns get pitched the hardest — cold emails promising page one, "guaranteed leads," a rebrand you didn't ask for. So Pittsburgh owners tune it all out, including the work that would actually move the number. The fix is a scorecard, not a better pitch: rankings to calls to closed revenue, in writing, monthly.

Leak 02

One page for every neighborhood

Shadyside, Lawrenceville, the South Side, Squirrel Hill — each searches like its own small town, and Cranberry, Monroeville, and Robinson are separate markets again. One generic "Pittsburgh" page ranks nowhere in particular. Winning the metro means building for it market by market.

Leak 03

Contested clicks, soft conversion

Pittsburgh service categories are contested auctions — every roofer, lawyer, and HVAC shop bidding on the same searches. When clicks cost real money, conversion has to carry the weight. Take a 20% close rate to 30% and that's a 50% revenue increase on the exact same ad spend.

Leak 04

The relationship ceiling

This is a relationship town — work comes from the guy who knows the guy. That's real, and it caps out at the edge of your network. The family that just moved to Lawrenceville doesn't know your name yet. Search is where they meet you; referrals stay the foundation underneath.

Leak 05

The AI shortlist is being written

Ask ChatGPT for the best contractor, dentist, or lawyer in Pittsburgh — somebody's names come back. Those answers are assembled now, from reviews, citations, and structured pages. Ignore AEO and the shortlist gets written without you. Show up in it, or watch it recommend the shop that did the work.

Leak 06

Parts, not a machine

A website from one shop, ads from another, a nephew running Instagram, no CRM anywhere. Each part looks fine on its own invoice. Nothing connects, so nothing compounds — and nobody is accountable for the only number that matters: closed revenue. We build it as one machine, on one scorecard.

What we install

The machine, sized for Pittsburgh

Most of your competitors run on a logo, a phone number, and a guy who "does the website." A connected machine beats that every month it runs. And if the diagnosis shows your leak is the pitch, not the traffic, we'll say so and fix that instead — that's our sales consulting work in Pennsylvania.

  • Local SEO & the map packProfile, pages, citations, and a review engine built market by market — so Shadyside searches find you and Cranberry searches find you too, and AI assistants name you when asked.
  • Web design that capturesFast, mobile-first, wired to a CRM — because the 9pm searcher with a leaking water heater doesn't call back tomorrow if your site loses them tonight.
  • Ads only where the math worksGoogle for the emergency searches, Meta for the scroll — funded by your unit economics, not by vibes, with cost per closed sale reported monthly.
  • The follow-up floorSpeed-to-lead wiring and a written cadence — so the lead your rankings earned becomes a customer instead of aging in an inbox.

Why a no-BS town should hear us out

We're not from Pittsburgh, and we won't pretend to be. Here's what we are: two operators who built a company in public. FreedInsure — founded February 2023, two people, zero startup capital. First month of commission: $227. It grew to $1.3M a year with three-quarters of the book renewing, and the clients left the receipts where anyone can check: 4.9 stars across 519 Google reviews. Mike has 30 years of selling behind him — former stockbroker, founder of Puf Cigarettes (the Staten Island Advance covered it in 2014), and Tino's sales trainer since Tino was 17. Tino entered insurance at 20, founded the agency at 22, and holds producer licenses in 42 jurisdictions — we ran a multi-state book remotely before we ever consulted on one.

The steel-town part: we'll tell you if your problem isn't marketing. Sometimes the traffic is fine and the pitch is broken. Sometimes the pricing is the leak. You get the verdict either way, and the engagement runs remote on the same monthly scorecard our own book ran on — Philadelphia is our Pennsylvania base. Meet us properly on the About page.

Questions Pittsburgh owners ask us

Depends on what's broken, and we won't pretend otherwise. We don't quote packages before seeing your market: the free diagnosis reads your visibility, your competitors, and your lead handling first, then the engagement is scoped to what actually needs fixing. Two commitments before a dollar moves: you'll see the price in writing, and you'll see the math that's supposed to justify it. If the math doesn't work for your business, we'll say so and you keep the diagnosis.
No, and we won't rent a mailbox to pretend we do. Philadelphia is our Pennsylvania base, and the engagement runs remote on the same monthly scorecard either way — rankings, calls, close rate, cost per closed sale. The local SEO work itself is town-specific, not geography-bound: it's built from your neighborhoods, your competitors, and your review base, wherever the person doing it sits. What matters is whether the numbers move, and the scorecard shows that monthly.
All of Allegheny County and the ring around it. City neighborhoods — Shadyside, Lawrenceville, the South Side, Squirrel Hill, and the rest — plus Cranberry, Monroeville, Robinson, and the suburbs in between. If your customers search your category plus "Pittsburgh" or "near me," the playbook applies. Multi-location and service-area businesses get pages built per market, not one page stretched thin over all of them.
AEO — answer engine optimization — is the work of getting your business named when someone asks ChatGPT or Google's AI for the best plumber, lawyer, or dentist in Pittsburgh. Those tools answer with a short list instead of ten blue links, and the list is assembled from reviews, citations, and structured pages. It matters here for a simple reason: most Pittsburgh businesses haven't started on it, so the shortlists are still being written. The businesses that do the work get named. Everyone else gets left off.
Ask for the chain: which rankings moved, which calls those rankings produced, and which of those calls became revenue. In writing, monthly. If the report is traffic graphs and impressions, you're paying for activity, not outcomes. A serious operation tracks rankings to calls to closed sales and shows you cost per closed sale — that's the scorecard we run on ourselves. The free diagnosis will read your last few months and give you a straight verdict, whoever you end up hiring.
