The plumbing under the rankings

Technical SEO services that
fix what's quietly capping you.

Content can't rank on a site machines can't read. We learned that running our own engine — the one that took FreedInsure from a $227 first month to $1.3M a year with three-quarters of the book renewing. Half of that work was never visible: crawl, speed, rendering, schema, redirects. The plumbing. We fix it first, because nothing above it works until it's fixed.

What's actually broken

Why sites full of good content still can't rank

Six technical faults we find over and over. Every one caps the content above it. Every one is fixable.

Fault 01

Crawl budget burned on junk

Faceted filters, session parameters, tag archives, infinite calendars — Googlebot spends its visit crawling URLs that will never earn a dollar while your money pages wait weeks for a recrawl. The bot's time on your site is a budget. Most sites spend it on garbage.

Fault 02

Speed failures nobody bills you for

Core Web Vitals isn't a badge; it's a cap. Fail the thresholds and every ranking on the site competes with a weight on its ankle. Nobody sends the penalty as a line item. It just shows up as page two, quietly, on every query at once.

Fault 03

Content the machines never see

The page looks fine in a browser. Turn off JavaScript and half of it vanishes. Crawlers and AI assistants both read the cheap version first — if your content only exists after a script runs, to the machines that decide rankings and answers, it barely exists.

Fault 04

Five copies of every page

www and non-www. http and https. Trailing slash, parameters, a printer version. Same content, five URLs — and your ranking signals split five ways. Canonical chaos doesn't look broken to a human. To a crawler it's five weak pages instead of one strong one.

Fault 05

No schema, no quote

Structured data is how machines confirm what a page actually says — the AEO dependency. Machines can't quote what they can't parse. Missing or broken schema means no rich results and no AI citations. The competitor with valid markup gets named. You get skipped.

Fault 06

The migration that torched the traffic

A redesign ships. Nobody mapped the old URLs to the new ones. Every ranking earned over years now points at a 404, and traffic falls off a cliff the week after launch. Migrations don't kill traffic — unmapped redirects do. Fully preventable. Almost never prevented.

What we fix

Audit first. Then the build.

Four pieces of work, in dependency order, starting with the technical SEO audit. The technical layer feeds everything above it — including the AI answers we build through answer engine optimization. Fix the pipes and the water flows.

  • The full technical auditCrawl, speed, rendering, indexation — every fault found, severity-ranked, in fix order. Not a 90-page scan dump; a work order a developer can execute this sprint.
  • Schema and structured dataThe SEO-AEO bridge. Organization, service, FAQ, product — markup that validates and matches the visible page, so search engines show rich results and AI assistants can quote you.
  • Migration protectionRedirect maps built before launch, staging crawled against production, launch-week watch. Redesigns and replatforms without the traffic funeral.
  • Monitoring that actually monitorsRegressions caught in days, not quarters. A deploy that noindexes the blog or a plugin that breaks schema gets flagged the week it happens — not at the quarterly review.

We're not guessing. We run the site too.

FreedInsure: founded February 2023 by two people with zero startup capital. First month of commission, $227. It grew to $1.3M a year with roughly three-quarters of the book renewing — fed by a lead engine the founders built themselves. That engine runs on a site we have to keep crawlable, fast, and machine-readable, because every technical fault shows up as fewer dials on our own floor. Clients left the verdict in public: 4.9 stars across 519 Google reviews.

The average technical SEO agency learned this work auditing other people's sites. We learned it watching our own lead flow move when something broke. Walk the entire build in the FreedInsure case study, or see what the technical layer feeds on the answer engine optimization page.

Questions site owners ask us

Technical SEO services are the engineering side of search: the work that makes a website crawlable, renderable, indexable, and machine-readable before any content strategy can pay off. A full engagement includes a crawl audit that finds where bots waste their budget on junk URLs; Core Web Vitals and page-speed fixes; JavaScript rendering checks so content is actually visible to crawlers and AI assistants; canonical and indexation cleanup so ranking signals consolidate on one URL per page; structured data that machines can parse and quote; redirect mapping for any migration or redesign; and monitoring that catches regressions in days instead of quarters. If content is the water, technical SEO is the plumbing.
Content SEO is the water; technical SEO is the plumbing. Content SEO decides what your site says — the pages, the answers, the searches worth owning. Technical SEO decides whether machines can actually get to it: crawl it, render it, index it, and parse it. You need both, in that order of dependency. Great content on a site with broken plumbing sits invisible. Perfect plumbing on a site with nothing to say delivers nothing. Most agencies sell one and ignore the other. We audit the plumbing first, because every content dollar spent on a broken site is a dollar leaked.
We don't quote a package before reading your site. The free revenue diagnosis comes first: a crawl of your site, your Search Console reality, your competitors, and the revenue the technical faults are costing you. Then the engagement is scoped to what's actually broken and priced against what fixing it is expected to return. The honest metric isn't cost per audit or cost per fix — it's cost per closed customer. You see the price and the expected math in writing before a dollar moves. If the math doesn't clear, we say so.
Six signs, checkable today. Traffic stays flat while you keep publishing. New pages take weeks to show up in Google. Rankings dropped after a redesign or replatform and never recovered. Search Console shows piles of 'Crawled — currently not indexed' pages or duplicate warnings. Your pages fail Core Web Vitals on mobile. And turning off JavaScript makes your content disappear. Any one of these is worth a look. Two or more means the plumbing is capping everything your content does — and the diagnosis is free.
Directly. AI assistants can only cite what they can fetch, render, and parse — the same dependency chain a crawler runs. If your content hides behind JavaScript, the machine never reads it. If your structured data is missing or broken, the machine can't tell your service from your sidebar, so it quotes a competitor whose markup it can parse. Technical SEO is the layer underneath answer engine optimization: clean rendering, valid schema, and fast crawlable pages are what make a site quotable. That's why our technical work and our AEO work ship as one build.
